Toni Lee Sharpless

Toni Lee Sharpless went missing on August 23, 2009 from Philadelphia. Toni had been known to have some struggles with a mental disorder (Bipolar Disorder). She had been hospitalized a few times for it, and seemed to be on the mend. She had a daughter and family that she loved, along with a career as a nurse. Toni was on medication for Bipolar, which meant she could no longer indulge in an old habit - alcohol. One evening in August, she went out clubbing with a childhood friend. They eventually met a former football player, Willie Green. He invited the women back to his home, and they agreed to go. Once at his house, Toni stayed inside while her friend went to swim in the pool. Toni began to get aggressive - yelling at people and throwing things. Green eventually asked Toni and her friend to leave his home. Toni insisted on driving, even though she was heavily intoxicated. While driving, Toni demanded that her friend get out of the vehicle. This was the last time Toni was seen.

Toni's family thought maybe she took a wrong turn and drove into a nearby lake on accident. After searching the lake, Toni's car was not found.

There are hardly any clues in Toni's case. Her license plate was electronically recorded in Camden, NJ shortly after she disappeared.

In January 2013, an anonymous letter was sent to police. It was written on a yellow legal pad, and stated, "What happened to (Toni), I don't really know. All I know is she had a run-in with the police and I was paid much-needed cash to get the car to a shop in Boston. The writer claims to have helped ditch Sharpless’ car in Boston in 2009 for about $5,000 at the request of a friend. "I came back to Camden a day later and (the friend) told me that the car was not stolen, but missing. He said a friend of his, a cop in Camden, got into a fight with a girl, she died and he needed to get the car out of Jersey," the letter stated. The writer included the VIN of Toni's car also.

After Toni disappeared, her cell phone and bank account were never accessed again.

It is speculated that Toni got into drugs in Camden, and possibly involved in sex trafficking. This is a possibility, as Toni was an attractive woman and struggled with a mental disorder.

Toni Lee Sharpless is still missing today.

Jeremy Alex

Jeremy Alex disappeared from Northport, Maine on April 24, 2004. Jeremy seemed to be an extraordinary 28-year-old. He had recently moved to this small town from New Hampshire. Jeremy's disappearance is very bizarre. On the last day he was seen by his girlfriend, he was very paranoid and talking about "bad people coming after him." His girlfriend had also found cocaine and heroin in their shared house. She reported that he seemed to be hallucinating.

A woman reported a strange man who came out of the woods clasping money in his hands. He kept saying that someone was after him. When the woman's husband tried to restrain him, he broke free and ran away. Nothing was found after the area was searched.

Another sighting of him was running across Route 1, but nothing was found after this search either.

There have been multiple sightings (unconfirmed, but likely credible) of a man running out of the woods, very confused and wild looking. The people who saw this man believe it was Jeremy.

About 4 years after Jeremy disappeared, his ID and money surfaced. A woman found it washed up on the shore outside her house, and she never made the connection to the missing person.

This case is still open, and Jeremy is still missing. There are not many clues in this particular case, which makes it strange indeed.

To me, Jeremy most likely had a bad reaction to the cocaine and heroin, and started hallucinating. It is possible that he is alive and is not of sound mind. That is my hope, at least. From what I have researched, Jeremy has touched many people's lives, and it is very out of character for him to go missing.'

As his family said in the episode, it is possible that drug dealers were after him and eventually killed him. They believe he may be in the ocean, and that is why the police haven't found his body. Whether Jeremy is alive or deceased, I hope the family gets closure soon.

Roxanne Paltauf

Roxanne Paltauf went missing on July 7, 2006. She was last seen at a motel in Austin, Texas, with her boyfriend Lewis Walls. Walls stated that Roxanne left the hotel around 8:30 PM that evening after an argument between the two occurred. She never came back to the motel, and left behind her purse, money and ID.

Lewis got in contact with Roxanne's family 6 days after she went missing to return her clothes. However, after looking at the clothes, her family knew it was not Roxanne's clothing. The clothes were said to be kid's sizes and not her style.

Throughout the episode, her family and law enforcement elude to Lewis Walls being a person of interest. They talk about his violent background with women and prior felony convictions. Walls denies having anything to do with her disappearance.

An article from April 2011 states that Roxanne's disappearance is now being handled as a homicide (http://www.kvue.com/news/New-information-in-a-5-year-old-missing-persons-case-could-make-it-a-homicide-120521684.html)

This is a bizarre episode, and it seems like there could be many different leads, from Lewis Walls to a man carrying Roxanne's ID. This man, Jeffrey Moore, was arrested, and had Roxanne's ID on her. He claims that he gave Roxanne and Lewis Walls a ride earlier. There were some inconsistencies between Moore's and Walls' stories. While researching Roxanne's case on the internet, there has been some speculation that Roxanne was a prostitute and Moore was a possible "John," and that is why he had her ID. This theory does not seem very likely to me. Rather, Moore could have been involved in her disappearance as a driver of the car.

As of today, Roxanne Paltuaf is still missing

Lee Sterling Cutler

This episode, Lee Sterling Cutler went missing after attending a friend's birthday party on October 20, 2007. Once family realized he was missing, a search started for Lee. Police found that Lee had taken a mug out of his bedroom, which was believed to hold between $500-$800. They also learned that a surveillance camera spotted Lee at a gas station not long before the search started for Lee. Two days after Lee went missing, a sheriff in Baraboo, Wisconsin, found Lee's abandoned car near a river. Police searched the car and found clothes, a backpack and blankets. They also found a receipt from a state park, and a copy of the book Into the Wild.

A cryptic note to Lee's mother was also found at the scene, which read, “My head is too big for my body, finally I’ll get to sleep. I’m sorry mom for being a coward, I love you mom, please be happy.”

An empty bottle of Advil PM, along with a bottle of Coricidin (cold and flu medicine) were found near the car. Khaki pants partially submerged in the river were found, and in the pants were Lee's car keys, a wallet with an ID, and cash.

Lee's body has not been found, and there are no obvious signs of foul play. Throughout the episode, family and friends mentioned Lee wanting to take a journey to try and find himself. I would believe that this is what happened. It was also mentioned that Lee had shown interest in joining the Israeli army. This could be another viable outcome.

Someone in the episode had mentioned a possible sighting of Lee in the southwest United States, possibly seen in a homeless shelter.

Lee Sterling Cutler is still missing as of today.

Disapppeared

Investigation Discovery's TV series, Disappeared, is one of my favorite shows. It is so intriguing to me, and also mind-blowing, that people vanish without a trace. As we all know, no one just walks off of the Earth - someone knows something. I created this blog after searching for updates on each episode. I found that there were no updates all in one place, so I decided to create this blog and post updates on each person featured.

This is not the place to point fingers at anyone, but I do welcome theories of what happened to each person.

As always, if you have any information about a missing person, please contact the police or FBI.
